Activities

Our community centre is a hub of activity.  Here are some we currently offer:

Inter-Generational Playgroup
playgroupDuring school terms, playgroup meets weekly. We are currently hosting a Thursday playgroup meeting on Thursday 9.30 – 11.30am.  Being ‘Inter-generational’ means there are senior members of our congregation that help, play with the children and offer support to the parents.  Grandparents who care for their children are also very welcome.

If you have a small group that are interested in starting a Playgroup we have availability for other group times.  Please contact Mary Elton elton5@bigpond.com to discuss the options with her to join our existing group, or start a new one.  You can also find out more about our playgroup via Facebook – www.fb.me/mrucplaygroup

Ready Set Go…too Kindy!
Ready Set Go is a fully supervised pre-kindy program that operates on a Wednesday morning, in terms 3 & 4 to help children with the transition to Kindy the following year. It is run by a qualified Early Childhood teacher, with the help of volunteers. The program mirrors a Kindy session with mat time, group activities, songs and stories, and play time.  Children are dropped off and picked up for the two hour session much like would happen in Kindy. Ecumenical Meditation

This session is held on a Thursday at 1pm, during school term. It is a small group that follows the format of, and is supported by, the World Community of Christian Meditation. We listen to a short reading either from the Christian Tradition or on meditation before entering into 20 minutes of silent meditation, followed by some music. Participants are invited to share if they want or to leave quietly at the end of the session. It is a supportive group and ideal for anyone just start out on a meditative journey. All are welcome – all faiths and no faith! Contact Mary on 0429797767 for further details.
